Our organization is built by a group of passionate individuals who have come together by the common goal of making theatre in Rexburg enjoyable and affordable. These people give of their time and efforts to help bring the Penguin Theatre Company to life.
Between them, they have been involved with a variety of theatre groups community, collegiate, and semi-professional with over 50 years of combined experience. Their variety of skills and talents complement each other and make our organization possible.
Makayla and Seth Daybell
Founders
Makayla and Seth are passionate theatre nerds with experience in many different sections of the theatre world. Their goal is to make theatre affordable for everyone in the Rexburg Idaho area.
Makayla was raised in Rexburg Idaho and has been involved with multiple theatre groups. She has a B.A. degree in Theatre Education and currently teaches an after school theatre class for teenagers. She has led in many capacities including directing, choreographing, producing, props, costumes, and more.
Seth grew up in Springville Utah, and found a love for theatre in fourth grade as Mr Bundles the Laundry Man in his elementary school's production of "Annie". He moved to Rexburg in 2016, and has been involved with theatre in the community ever since. He has a degree in Visual Communication and has close to a decade of experience marketing theatre productions.
